Save the date! On June 8, 2024, Battle City Games in North End, Portsmouth, UK, will be hosting an epic Antares Games Day – The Seventh Segment Wars. Organised with rules co-author Tim Bancroft, this event promises thrilling battles and strategic challenges set in the expansive universe of 'Beyond the Gates of Antares.'

ENGAGE IN THE SEVENTH SEGMENT WARS
At the centre of the Antares universe is a vast, interdimensional transit hub known as the Antares Nexus, built by a long-gone, advanced, precursor race known only as the Gatebuilders. Starships enter a ‘gate’ in their own system and are transported to the gate’s terminus on the surface of a star we know as Antares. From here they travel to another gate – and on entering are transported to a completely different star system many light years distant – and perhaps even in a different era!
The geopolitical structure of the universe is organised by the location of the gate termini on the Nexus; though separated by the vast distances of space, it is just a matter of a week or two’s travel between each system. In the Seventh Age, Antares is split into a number of different factions, all wary of or hostile to one another due to history, genetic disposition, or mere accidents of technology! The universe evolves, shaped by players actions on organised games days like this one at Battle City Games.
Until now, the Vorl – an insectoid, symbiote species – have largely been held at bay by the Concord’s armies at the Seventh Segment. But the rulers of the Seventh Segment, an evolved human species called NuHu, have broken away from the Concord to form their own kingdoms, collectively known as the ‘Aan Shard’.
This is seen by the Vorl as a weakness, a chance to rid the Nexus of yet more of the humans they regard as little more than vermin. Faced with the massed armies of the Vorl, the Concord have appealed for help to anyone who cares. What’s more, others see the burgeoning war as an opportunity to enrich themselves…
Your choice is simple: will you help or hinder the forces of law and order against the chaos brought by the Vorl and the Rogue NuHu?
